Most restaurants already collect guest contact details through online orders, reservations, Wi-Fi sign-ups and loyalty programs. The tools here turn those contacts into email, text and loyalty campaigns that bring guests back.
Restaurant-specific platforms such as Popmenu, Thanx and Paytronix connect to ordering and the POS, so campaigns can react to what guests actually buy: a note to lapsed regulars, a birthday offer, or points that track every visit. General tools such as Mailchimp are cheaper and flexible but know less about the guest unless you feed them the data.
AI helps with the writing and timing: subject lines, menu descriptions, social posts and send-time choices. Canva and similar design tools add menu and flyer templates with AI image and text features. Check every AI-written description against the actual dish, and never let a tool invent allergens or ingredients.
Consent matters. Marketing texts need prior written consent from the guest under the TCPA, and email needs a working unsubscribe. Ask how each tool records opt-ins and handles opt-outs before you import a list.

Email and SMS marketing with templates, audience segments and AI help writing subject lines and content.
Online design tool with menu, flyer and social post templates and AI features for images and text.
Restaurant websites with interactive menus, online ordering, automated marketing and AI phone answering.
Loyalty, guest data and marketing automation for restaurant brands, tied to card and app purchases.
Loyalty programs, gift cards, online ordering and guest engagement for restaurant and convenience brands.
Measure by repeat visits and revenue from campaigns, which the restaurant-specific tools can track through the POS.
Loyalty programs come in a few shapes. Points per dollar are familiar but slow to pay off for a guest. Visit-based rewards, such as a free item every tenth visit, are easy to understand. Card-linked programs track spend automatically when a guest pays with a registered card, so there is no app or phone number at the counter. Pick the shape that matches how often your guests return.
Keep campaigns infrequent and useful. A text about a new seasonal menu or a slow-night offer gets read; a daily blast gets unsubscribed. Most tools here show open and redemption rates, so stop sending what doesn't work. Watch the guest data side too: if a tool builds profiles from purchases, check what it stores, how long it keeps it, and how a guest can ask to be removed.
Menus are marketing too. A clear, current menu on your website, with dish names that match the POS and prices that match the dining room, does more for online orders than most campaigns. Design tools such as Canva help produce printed and online menus quickly, and Popmenu builds the menu into the website so each dish can carry photos and notes.
Not to start. Mailchimp or similar email tools work for a newsletter. Restaurant platforms such as Popmenu, Thanx and Paytronix earn their cost when you want campaigns triggered by orders and visits from your POS or ordering system.
Only guests who gave prior written consent to marketing texts, which is required under federal law. Use a tool that records opt-ins and processes STOP replies automatically, and keep the texts infrequent.
They can be, if the reward is simple and the program connects to your POS so staff don't have to do extra work. Measure whether members visit more often than other guests before adding complexity.
It can draft them. Have the chef check every description against the dish, especially ingredients and allergens, because an AI may add details that aren't true.
